π¨ Textured Art β Beach Waves Design
Create flowing textures with a holiday vibe ππ¨
Waves that make you dream β with our Beach Waves design, you can bring a touch of vacation to your walls. The soft, rhythmic shapes evoke the look of ocean waves in the sand and are especially effective when created with texture paste.
In our video tutorial, we guide you step-by-step on how to form these wave-like lines using the right palette knife technique. This motif is perfect for both beginners and advanced creators looking for a relaxing textured art experience.
π§ What you need for your Beach Waves design:
-
1Γ canvas (e.g. 30Γ30β―cm)
-
1Γ palette knife No. 22
-
1Γ texture paste
-
Paper cover & gloves
-
Optional: acrylic paint for the background
π Optional: Add color to the background
In the video, we also show you how to paint the canvas in soft beige or sandy tones before applying the texture paste. Itβs optional β but a great way to add extra depth and atmosphere to the design.
Tip: Let the paint dry completely before applying the paste to prevent cracking.
β Tips for a clean result:
-
Apply paste to the palette knife: Load the paste onto the underside of your palette knife in a wedge shape.
-
Create the wave shape: Place the edge of the knife onto the canvas and press the paste down β the majority should stick immediately and form a bold wave. Gently drag the remaining paste behind the wave in a smooth motion, creating a thin layer across the surface.
-
Smooth transitions: You can gently rework already formed waves β with or without extra paste β to refine the flow and connect all lines into one harmonious form (see video).
-
Clean your tool regularly: This helps avoid messy edges or uneven shapes.
