Arches are absolute classics in the world of Textured Art—and for good reason! The motif appears modern, serene, and simultaneously expressive. Arranged as a double motif on two canvases, an exciting connection emerges: two pictures, one look—ideal for living or bedroom walls.

🔧 What You Need:

  • 2x canvases—or feel free to start with just one
  • 1–2x notched spatulas
  • 1x palette knife or Japanese spatula (spatula without notches) for applying/spreading the paste
  • 1x texture paste
  • 1x paper underlay & gloves
  • Optional: acrylic paint for coloring after drying

🌀 Why the Arches Motif Is So Popular

The curved arches appear timeless and simultaneously modern—they bring calm to the room and fit into any interior. As a double motif, you can design them symmetrically or asymmetrically. Depending on the size of the canvas and the size of the spatula notches, the arches appear more delicate or powerful.

Tip: Working in mirror image on two canvases makes the overall picture particularly harmonious.

✅ What to Watch Out For:

  • Apply paste evenly: Apply approximately 2–3 mm of texture paste to the canvas with the spatula and smooth it as evenly as possible.
  • Keep the spatula clean: Remove excess paste from the spatula after each line to achieve clear shapes.
  • Design both canvases in parallel: For the double motif, it's important that you work on both canvases either sequentially in the same style or simultaneously—this creates a harmonious overall picture.
  • Optional coloring: After drying, you can paint both works with acrylic paint—tone-on-tone or with contrast—as you like!
